Since 1995 Catholic Education Melbourne has provided student support services aimed at enhancing the capacity of Catholic primary and secondary schools to assist students with diverse learning needs.

Student Learning staff based at each regional office are as follows:

• Psychologists
• Learning Consultants – New Arrivals and Refugees
• Learning Consultants - Diversity
• Speech Pathologists
• Learning Consultants – Chronic Health / Physical
• Learning Consultants – Hearing
• Learning Consultants – Vision.

Regional staff work as members of a multi-disciplinary team.

Regional services are accessed by schools through an established referral process. Parents need to approve the direct involvement of Learning Diversity staff with their children. The referral process is common across all regional offices and utilises the expertise of staff in a multi-disciplinary, integrated model of service delivery. The service effectively uses the skills of all regional staff and aims to provide fair, just and equitable services to all students in Catholic schools.
