Funding

About us > Funding

School funding policy is a complicated issue. However, it deals with the very lifeblood of our schools.

There is a known issue with playing videos in Internet Explorer 11 – if you are having issues please try Google Chrome or Firefox.

The federal Government contributes around 63% towards a Catholic student’s education. Because this is such a big amount, when the federal Government talks about changing funding arrangements, it’s going to affect Catholic students and Catholic families.

The quality of education available to our students, the breadth of learning opportunities they receive, the amount of fees parents can be expected to pay, the special services and teacher training available to our schools all comes down to funding.

Right now all of this is under a cloud, thanks to the Turnbull government’s proposed education changes.

These pages will explain what’s on the table, what it means for parents, where Catholic education believes it should be changed and how our school communities can work for an outcome that will ensure the best results and opportunities for our families.
